Katia’s Story — An Update of Hope and Gratitude
We are grateful to share an important update in little Katia’s journey.
Thanks to the generous humanitarian support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a new opportunity has opened for Katia to access the specialized medical care and treatment she urgently needs.
For Katia and her family, this support means more than financial assistance — it means hope, dignity, and the possibility of a healthier future. Non Frontier Disabled (NFD) remains committed to standing beside Katia and her family throughout this journey, working with the medical teams and relevant partners to help her receive the care she needs.
On behalf of Katia, her family, and Non Frontier Disabled, we extend our deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his compassion, generosity, and humanitarian support.
Thank you for giving Katia another reason to hope. May Allah bless His Highness with continued health, happiness, and success, and reward him abundantly for his kindness and humanitarian commitment.
Katia’s journey continues — and today, it continues with renewed hope.
Katia’s Story — A Little Girl, A Big Hope
Every child deserves the chance to grow, dream, laugh and build a future.
For Katia, that chance has become a difficult journey. Behind her medical records is a little girl who is deeply loved by her family — a child whose life has been shaped by a serious medical condition and the constant search for the care and treatment she needs.
For her parents, every day brings the same question:
“Is there something more we can do for our daughter?”
They have searched, asked for help and continued fighting, refusing to give up on her.
A New Door of Hope
When Katia’s case came to the attention of Non Frontier Disabled (NFD), we decided to take action.
We contacted Hôpital Femme Mère Enfant in Bron, near Lyon, France, and Professeure Carole Vuillerot regarding Katia’s case.
Her medical documentation has been submitted for review, and we are currently waiting for the medical team’s response.
This may seem like only a first step — but for Katia and her family, it represents something much bigger: Hope.
If the hospital agrees to take on Katia’s case, we will continue working with the medical team to understand the treatment options available to her.
We will also contact Novartis regarding the possibility of accessing the relevant treatment, subject to the medical team’s assessment and the applicable eligibility requirements.
After that, we will do everything we can to explore possible support for the costs of travelling to France, accommodation and other necessary expenses related to her care.
We Don’t Know the Ending Yet.
We cannot promise Katia or her family a particular medical outcome.
But we can promise that we will not stop at the first door.
We will ask questions.
We will contact the right people.
We will look for solutions.
And we will continue moving forward with her family, one step at a time.
Because Katia is not just a medical file. She is a daughter.
She is a child.
She is someone’s whole world.
And behind every child fighting for their health is a family praying for one more chance.
Katia’s Journey Is Still Being Written Today, her story is about uncertainty.
But we hope that tomorrow, it will be a story about treatment, courage, recovery and a future full of possibilities.
Non Frontier Disabled stands with Katia and her family. Because every child deserves a chance.
